About Alchemy Farm
We are situated on ten acres in the beautiful Burgoyne Fulford Valley on Salt Spring Island. Our property was once part of the historic 200 acre George and Kate Furness homestead, first settled in the 1880s.
Alchemy Farm is a small family farm specializing in naturally grown specialty cut flowers and floral design. We are not certified organic but we grow with organic and permaculture practices.
We are award-winning environmental artist, Ingrid Koivukangas, and UK Homeopath and woodsmith, Robin Logan. We are both healers, creatives and dreamers. We were married on Winter Solstice and believe in love and magic – hence the name we chose, Alchemy Farm. Our stewardship of this magical property is rooted in our deep love for the Earth and Nature, of becoming self-sufficient and living in harmony with all beings.
From the fields we have a spectacular view of Mount Maxwell towering over the Fulford Valley. Eagles circle overhead. Choruses of frogs serenade us from the many ponds. The original hedgerows, planted by early settlers, still mark the boundaries of our property, along the eastern and western edges. The orchard is rich with apple, pear, plum and cherry trees. Blackberries drape themselves over decaying fences. The land is awake with potential. We are creating a sustainable farm based on permaculture principles.
