Visit the Alchemy Farm Sound Garden from July 18th through to mid-September 2019. Environmental artist, Ingrid Koivukangas, has created a unique Sound Garden in one of her cutting gardens at Alchemy Farm on Salt Spring Island.
Ingrid will lead small groups, maximum 6, on a tour of the garden sharing information about flowers along the way. Visitors will be able to scan a QR code, with their Smartphone, at select flowers to listen to the music of that flower. The sound recordings were created with a device that transforms the energy of plants into musical notes. Each flower has its own unique melody.
The Alchemy Farm Sound Garden is a continuation of Ingrid's environmental art practice and work with flowers, including the Alchemy Flower Oracle deck which connects users to the energy of flowers, their medicinal uses, and the messages they each carry.
